The Task Force are in the process of tracking and monitoring new employment or training information for former SSI and Supply Chain workers. The figures below are based on local information and estimates:

- 2,166 of the 2,185 SSI and other workers who made an initial claim for benefits have since ended that claim*
- 1,759 new jobs have been created through the SSI Fund
- 418.5 jobs have been safeguarded through the SSI Fund
- 51 former SSI Apprentices were found training or employment
- Over 500 former SSI workers have not made any benefit claim to date.
The majority of funds have been available and operational since November 2015.
The £80m government support package included £30m ring-fenced funding through the Redundancy Payment Service (managed by the Insolvency Service).
The Redundancy Payment Service has processed 2030 redundancy payments and 1960 protective award payments to former SSI employees totalling £18,041,705.40.
New Business Start-up
554 people have been given initial individual advice as a first step to starting their own business and 302 businesses have been started. People are being helped with developing business plans, sales, marketing, accounting and legal advice. Grants of up to £10,000 are available for new business start-ups.
23,732 training courses have been agreed, funded through the Jobcentre Plus Rapid Response, Skills Funding Agency and Flexible Support Fund, totalling £9m investment in training.
51 former SSI Apprentices are all in education, training or placed with employers
2,066 SSI workers have been made redundant as a result of the closure.
26 Supply Chain companies have announced job losses totalling 849 employees being made redundant.
Support and Advice
2,000 Rapid Response sessions delivered (1600 SSI employees, 400 in supply Chain)
2,988 people have received advice and help from the Support Hub.
5,200 calls were made to the Jobcentre Plus helpline
