Love It Coastal Fun Day
Sunday 29 October 9am - 3pm

The Love It Coastal Team invites you to a day of fun and community activities in Locke Park, Redcar.

Why not come along and support the junior park runners or runners from New Markse Harriers before enjoying an afternoon of Halloween activities?

Local community groups will also be showing off the work they do and how they have helped the area!

Loftus Community Forum Planting Session
Thursday 19 October 9am - 12noon

Meeting Place: Please meet at the flower barrels on Loftus Bank near to the stone Loftus sign.
Loftus Community Forum are leading a Love it planting session in partnership with Redcar and Cleveland Council. The LCF planters and barrels require an overhaul as they have become choked with roots so they will be emptied and refilled with a soil and compost mix. The existing bulbs are to be rescued and replanted and the new winter bedding will be planted up.

If you would like to come along and help out, the session starts at the barrel planters on Loftus Bank near the stone Loftus sign at 9am on Thursday 19th October. We will be moving through the town during the day and should finish at Loy Lane if time allows.Loftus

Guisborough Bring Out Your Dross Day
Covering 350 properties throughout Guisborough

Our next BOYD dross day takes place in Guisborough on Monday 16 October.

Residents will be able to take advantage of this to have bulky waste items collected free of charge between 8:30am and 1pm.

We recommend that residents leave any items they want to be collected kerbside on the day of collection.

Friends of Redcar Monthly Litter Picks
Taking place on the first Sunday of every month from 5 February at 11am

Meeting Point: Regent Cinema
The Friends of Redcar will be undertaking monthly litter picks on the first Sunday of every month, starting 5 February, at 11am.

Residents are encouraged to get join the event and make a difference to their area.

Litter picks take place on the following dates:
March 5 - in partnership with the Marine Conservation Society
April 2 - in partnership with Tees River Trust and Tees Valley Wildlife Trust
September 17 - in partnership with Forrester Group and Tees Valley Wildlife Trust
October 29 - in partnership with Surfers Against Sewage

Volunteer Task Day Volunteer Task Days at:

Flatts Lane Woodland Country Park, Normanby, Guisborough Forest Walkway, Pinchinthorpe and Foxrush Community Woodland, Kirkleatham Lane, Redcar take place every Tuesday from 10am, volunteers are asked to meet at visitor centres or the public car park at Foxrush.

Volunteer Task Day at:
Kirkleatham Museum, Redcar takes place every Wednesday from 9:30am. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Countryside Office on the Kirkleatham Museum site.

Volunteers undertake a wide variety of tasks including:
Repairing and maintaining footpaths, fences and hedge rows.
Tree planting
Construction projects around the park (see pond photos before and during although still a work in progressafter photos to follow - watch this space.)
Litter picking
Bird surveys and much more.
