An e-petition is a way to collect signatures on-line using an email address to 'sign' an online form, hosted on the Council's website. It is a way for people who live, work or study in the Borough to make their views known and to influence council decision making.
E-petitions can be created on a wide range of topics where the council has responsibility or influence. All petitions will be considered but if an e-petition gets 1,500 valid signatures, it will be eligible for a debate at Full Council.
The Council cannot accept petitions relating to planning or licensing matters, where a suitable alternative appeal route or ongoing consultation exists. Petitions which are considered vexatious, abusive or otherwise inappropriate will not be accepted.
Please note: You must live, work or study at a Redcar & Cleveland registered address to create a petition.
