Behaviour Education Support Team (BEST)
Redcar and Cleveland Council
BEST work with children and young people and their families who may be experiencing difficulties either at school or within the home.
The team consists of family workers offering this service to children of statutory school age, including primary and secondary.
The team work together with schools and if required, other specialist agencies, to provide advice and support on parenting issues, health
concerns and offer support to pupils within school. BEST offer group work within schools on issues relating to anti-bullying,
self-esteem, anger management and friendships. BEST arrange regular review meetings in school inviting families and other relevant people to ensure information is shared and appropriate action is taken to support the family.
