Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum
The museum promotes the ironstone heritage of the region with a fully guided tour led by knowledgeable volunteers through the original
buildings of the Loftus Mine. Other facilities include a first floor education room for activities and events.

| Health and safety on-site; all visitors (from 3 years and up) are issued with hard hats which must be worn at all times. The guided tours go down in to the North Drift tunnel. Throughout the tour, the floor surfaces are uneven, narrow and sloping in places and the dark room simulates a complete blackout, as experienced in the working mine. Guided tour more suitable for age 3 up but babies are welcome to accompany families. | |
