The Service provides advice, support and guidance to parents where school
attendance is a concern.
Advice, support and assistance to schools in respect of improving and
maintaining high levels of attendance.
Investigation and intervention in individual cases of non-attendance or
irregular school attendance.
Supporting appropriate legal interventions where parents have failed to fulfil
their responsibilities in respect of school attendance.
Identification and referral of suspected cases of child abuse or neglect.
Advice and support to pregnant school girls and their families to ensure
suitable arrangements are made for continuing their education.
Advice/guidance regarding child employment permits and child entertainment
licences to children, parents and employers.
