About the Task ForceThe Task Force was set up in September 2015 in response to the planned mothballing, and subsequent liquidation of the SSI Steelworks.
The aim of the group is to provide support to affected workers, local businesses, communities and the wider economy by delivering a programme of tailored support.
The Task Force is chaired by Amanda Skelton, Chief Executive of Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, and brings together key partners including SSI UK representatives, local agencies, businesses, trade unions, MPs, council leaders and other stakeholders.
