South Bank Primary School

Welcome

Welcome to South Bank Primary School website and a taste of what life is like at our school.  We hope you will enjoy reading about the exciting opportunities and experiences we offer to the children in our community. Our doors are always open, whether you are new to the school or a long standing friend, welcome.

South Bank Primary school is at the heart of South Bank and serves a multi-cultural community.  This is a new school opened in September 2005 for 315 pupils with nursery places for 39 children. In the summer of 2006, it moved to new purpose built premises.

The school community includes groups learning English as an additional language, Travellers, pupils in care and refugees. Most pupils are from White British backgrounds and a small range of minority ethnic groups. The local authorities Multicultural Team share our resources and form a valuable asset to the school.

The schools provision for children with learning difficulties is excellent.  This includes a unit for up to 25 pupils, from KS1 & KS2, with moderate learning difficulties.  This is developing into a real asset for the surrounding area as it also offers outreach support to other schools and professionals.

We aspire to equipping our children with the skills and attributes necessary to live a full life, contributing positively to a fast changing world.  Our schools mission statement is:-

Moving potential to new horizons through the provision of a rich learning environment, where
individuals are respected and valued.
