Local Sustainable Transport Fund

The Council submitted a successful bid to the new Local Sustainable Transport Fund that was made available by the Department for Transport in 2011. Funding of £1,500,000 has been awarded to cover four main initiatives:

A "Get Moving Redcar & Cleveland" programme for the promotion of sustainable transport;
The provision of walking and cycling links to improve facilities for sustainable transport;
An off-road footpath and cycle route from Grangetown to Teesport to provide a safe sustainable transport alternative; and,
The provision of Independent Travel Training for disabled people.

Implementation will take place until March 2015.
