Pleasure Boats

Licence Summary
Under the Public Health Acts 1907 and Recreational Craft Regulations 1996, pleasure boats or vessels that are used on inland waterways or sea going vessels which are either let out to members of the public for hire or are used for the carriage of passengers for hire must obtain a licence to do so. This means that boats are licensed for the carriage of passengers in the same way as taxis.

Application Process

Consumer Complaint
We would always advise that in the event of complaint the first contact is made with the trader by you - preferably in the form a letter (with proof of delivery). If that has not worked, if you are located in the UK, Consumer Direct will give you advice. From outside the UK contact the UK European Consumer Centre.
