Woodland Trails
Within the Museum grounds a woodland trail has been created and benefits from hard surfaced pathways suitable for all visitors to enjoy including those with access problems.
A mini beast habitat area can be found on site along with the construction of a bird hide and bird feeding station.
Maze
We have a newly planted maze within the grounds; the closest maze to us is situated in Durham.
Play Area
The play area has been developed into a bespoke timber framed play area suitable for all ages in a safe and welcoming environment.
Willow Dome
Another addition, and one designed to complement the play area is the construction of a living willow dome, the dome has two extending tunnels each with a small pod at the end. Allowing visitors the opportunity to interact with the natural environment in a unique way.
Nature Garden
The Nature Garden behind the café is being restored, and the raised planters are being turned into sensory beds. A wildflower mix has been sown to create a grassland habitat, and the former pond is being turned into a Bog Garden.
