- Patrolling designated areas and informing members of the public on the whole range of council services.
- To act as a source of information for the Police, local authority, elected members and other agencies active in the area.
- Inspect void properties and public buildings to ensure that they are secure and report to the relevant departments any areas of concern.
(See also: Empty Property Hotline) - To liaise with operational staff resolving environmental and maintenance problems.
- Liaise with neighbourhood groups, forums and neighbourhood watch schemes.
- Visit the vulnerable members of the community and note areas of concern.
- Report incidents of racial harassment and homophobia and to liaise with the appropriate agencies.
- Act as an enforcement officer of the litter, dog fouling legislation, Section 46 (Prescribed times for the presentation and removal of household bins for emptying) and Dog Control Orders .
- Act as a Civil Enforcement Officer with regards to the Councils Civil Parking Enforcement policies.
- Respond to minor incidents of anti social behaviour and low-level neighbourhood disputes.
