Noise caused by a Persons Behaviour

There are some domestic noises which are termed domestic sounds of occupation or lifestyle differences. These noises are more difficult for the Environmental Protection Team to tackle by way of statutory / legal control.

The following are examples of noises which are more difficult to tackle:
  • Noise from children such as noise from children playing
  • Shouting, screaming and raised voices
  • Normal use of domestic appliances at reasonable times
  • Slamming doors and heavy footfall on stairs etc.

These noises are often an indication of poor sound insulation between properties.
