  • Support and supervision to you and your family from experienced social workers.
  • Support and guidance to you and the young people who are in placement from experienced Foster Care Support Workers.
  • Out of hours support from experienced social workers from Tees Valley Emergency Duty Team.
  • Out of hours support from a network of experienced foster carers.
  • Advice and information on health from the Specialist Nurse for Looked After Children and Virtual School Head for education.
  • Child Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) for therapeutic input for you and the young people who are in placement.
  • Regular support meetings and the opportunity to attend informal meeting with other foster carers.
  • Supervising Social Workers and Childrens Social Worker who are based within Redcar & Cleveland.
  • Respite as and when you need it.
  • Fosterline an independent organisation offering impartial support and advice to foster carers and those interested in fostering.
  • Redcar & Cleveland approved foster carers (living with Redcar & Cleveland or in other local authority areas) will receive a monthly exemption on their council tax up to an annual amount of £1,500
Training & Development
  • A Payment for Skills scheme that recognises and rewards yours skills and abilities as you develop in your fostering role.
  • As a carer with us, youll have the opportunity to attend a wide range of courses from your initial training to more specific courses which will be held at local offices across Redcar & Cleveland.
  • Each carer has a specific Personal Development Plan which identifies training and career development opportunities.

Leisure & Activities
  • Holiday activities and seasonal events for you, your family and the children/young people you may have in placement.

  • Use of an 8 berth caravan on the North East Coast that you can use free of charge.
