We have an inclusive approach, to involving the people of Redcar & Cleveland in our decision making. The council is committed through its key priorities to engage, consult and involve local people to help achieve its vision.

Your views on how services are provided are important to us. Through out the year we will ask what you think about the Council and the way we deliver services across Redcar & Cleveland. We will provide feedback on the results of consultation, and will let you know the findings and what action we have taken as a result.

Draft Local Plan

This consultation runs from 27 June 2016 to 8 August 2016.

The Local Plan will set out a vision for how Redcar & Cleveland will be developed during the period to 2032. It will determine how much development will take place and where it will be located, as well as setting out how we can improve the quality of life in the borough as a place to live and work. The plan explores proposals around: housing; employment; retail and town centres; natural and built environment; and transport.

Tackling Child Poverty

The Health & Wellbeing Board would like to hear the views of Grangetown residents to help address some of the issues that affect children who live in poverty. Feedback and suggestions will be used to improve current services and help decide on actions that will be taken to reduce the effects of poverty on children in the community. This online survey will take around 5 minutes to complete:

Shaping Our Future 3

We are asking for your views on the future of council services. The survey provides the opportunity to shape what the council will look like in the future as budgets continue to shrink.

Coastal Communities Consultation

The Coastal Communities Fund (CCF) aims to encourage the economic development of UK coastal communities by awarding funding to create sustainable economic growth and jobs. Two Coastal Community Teams have been created, one for Redcar / Coatham and one for East Cleveland Coastal to help shape an economic plan for their future. There is an online questionnaire and a public consultation event for each team.

Budget Consultation 2015

The Governments austerity plans are likely to continue to significantly reduce the funding the council receives, and central Government asked the council to plan budgets on the basis of a funding reduction from them of between 25% and 40% by 2020.

Consultation on proposed public space protection order (dog control)

The council wants to know your views on proposed changes to dog control powers, particularly on the introduction of new dog control offences. The councils aim, by proposing these powers, is to considerably increase the risks for dog walkers who fail to face up to the consequences of their actions on others who use the boroughs public spaces for recreation and enjoyment.

Digital Access Events

The Council would like to invite you to a Digital Access event. The aim of these events is to get a better understanding from residents on how to improve the Councils website, and explore some of the barriers, facing residents when accessing services online. We are interested in hearing from a wide range of people from those who may have never used the internet to those who use the internet to do all their transactions online.

Sea Front Shelter, Lower Promenade, Saltburn

We are seeking your feedback on the drawings that have been created to show what a new shelter could look like. We would like to know what you like and dont like about the proposals and any other thoughts you may have on the Lower Promenade.

Kirkleatham Catering Academy and Walled Garden

We are seeking your comments and feedback on the designs which have been submitted as part of the Kirkleatham Catering Academy and Walled Garden Design competition. Open Space Needs Assessment

This survey seeks views regarding satisfaction with public open spaces in Redcar & Cleveland.  The survey is being undertaken as part of an assessment of open space needs in the Borough.

The proposals for a Tees Valley Combined Authority

The five local councils in the Tees Valley (Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees) have asked for views on proposals to form a Combined Authority for the Tees Valley.
