Tees Valley Noise Survey

The five Tees Valley Local Authorities (Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton) have carried out a survey of occupational noise levels within the Entertainment and Leisure industry.

This survey was supported by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Science and Technology fund

Each Local Authority selected premises from within their Borough and carried out noise surveys using personal dosimeters provided by Health and Safety Laboratories. A total of 11 premises and 34 employees have been surveyed. The results have shown that on average the noise dose (LEP,d) received by staff during a routine shift is 94 decibels (dB) with some staff receiving an average noise dose of 103dB.
