Permit Policy

Following a review of the current permit policy the following changes came into effect on 1st July 2009:
  • Vans up to 3.5t and vehicles towing a trailer will require a permit. Vehicles in excess of 3.5t are not permitted
  • Access to the sites is restricted to 6 visits per year for any type of van or trailer
  • There will be a £20.00 charge per permit issued for 6 tips
  • Hire vehicles require hire documents and driving licence to be presented. 3 tips in 48 hours with a maximum of 1 permit in a 12 month period.
  • Permits must be presented at the site, prior to off-loading items.
  • Permits will only be issued on production of the vehicle's registration document (V5), latest utility bill and a current driving licence.
  • Permits can only be obtained from:
    • Seafield House, Kirkleatham Street, Redcar, TS10 1SP
    • Belmont House, Rectory Lane, Guisborough, TS14 7FD
    • Low Grange District Centre, Normanby Road, South Bank, TS6 6TD (please note cash cannot be accepted at this site, payment must be made by debit card or credit card)
  • Only residents of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council are permitted to use the Household Waste Recycling Centres.

How many permits can you apply for?

  • Permits will be limited to one per household, residents with two or more vehicles will have to denote which vehicle they require the permit for as the vehicle details are shown on the permit.

Monitoring of access
  • Registration and vehicle details are shown on the front of the permit and must match that of the vehicle wanting entry. If they do not match you will be refused entry at all times.
