Countryside Sites


Managed as a Local Nature Reserve there are various circular walks available throughout the woods. Facilities at this site include a car park, play area, orienteering, Peter’s pond and a trim trail.

Flatts Lane Woodland Country ParkThe perfect place to explore the countryside and an ideal starting point from which to discover Eston Hills. Facilities at this site include; visitor centre, shop which sells hot and cold beverages, snacks and toys, play area, bird hide, pond, sculpture trail and trim trail. Dogs are welcome in the centre.

Foxrush Farm Community Woodland is the perfect place for an afternoon stroll. The site includes a trim trail, sculpture trail, orienteering and way marked trails. It is an accessible site with a 6km of hard serviced flat paths, offering two way marked circular routes. The site is ideal for dog walking and bird watching. Hard serviced car park available off Kirkleatham Lane.

Guisborough Forest & Branch WalkwayThe Centre provides the ideal starting point for a visit to Guisborough Forest with many routes for walking short or long distances. Facilities at this site include; visitor centre, café, shop, play area, bird hides, pond, wetland area, minibeast area, sculpture trail and trim trail. There are also three way marked routes. Dogs are welcome in the centre.

There are various circular walks available throughout the woods. Facilities at the site include orienteering, a woodland centre, tea rooms, Italian gardens, miniature railway (Apr-Oct) and play area. There is also a community orchard and wildflower meadow near the viaduct.
