Our Equality Policy

Our Equality Policy was adopted by Borough Council on 12 January 2012. It replaces all our previous equality policies and schemes with a single policy that sets out the key principles that guide the way in which the Council makes decisions, provide services; recruit and support our employees; work with other organisations; and involve local people. It will be supported by strategies and action plans that set out the objectives and activities that will ensure we meet our Equality Duty. Gender pay gap

Under the Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties and Public Authorities) Regulations 2017, all public sector organisations employing 250 people or more must publish information about their gender pay gap.

The information for the first reporting period, March 2017, has been published on the Government's gender pay gap web site ( and is available via the link below.
