Educational Visits and Outdoor Learning

Here you will find the Policy and Procedure that will help you plan your Outdoor Education activities and Educational Visits safely.

This Policy and Procedure is governed by the People Services Directorate, but it is the policy of the Council that ALL council departments and schools adhere to it, to ensure that we have a clear and consistent approach to keeping children and young people safe whilst enjoying these activities.

Policy, procedure and forms
Redcar and Cleveland Council is committed to providing clear guidance relating to the planning and risk assessing outdoor education and educational visits. The attached policy and procedure provides this guidance, together with related forms for completion.

This reflects the importance placed on swimming as a healthy and rewarding physical activity and the need for personal water safety skills. It also enables the requirements of the National Curriculum to be met.
