Areas at Risk
Flooding can occur anywhere throughout the Borough during extreme rainfall events obviously if you live near the coast, there is always a possibility that a combination of high tides and bad weather will increase the risk of flooding to your property. It is worth mentioning that flooding can de caused by flash rainfall events that result in increased levels of water runoff from the land, these results in the drainage systems being unable to cope; High river levels also contribute to flooding. Even though engineers undertake regular maintenance of its critical drainage infrastructure to reduce the risk of flooding, the force of nature can overwhelm our efforts and systems.
