
Time to celebrate the Forest Festival
Published: 4th Sep 2012THE Friends of Guisborough Forest and Walkway invite you to a fantastic woodland festival for all the family.
This year the popular Forest Festival takes place on Sunday, September 9 between 10am and 4pm.
The event will start with a bang as Kutamba a South African percussion and dance group start their performance, the group will be on hand throughout the festival with various drumming, dance and harmony workshops.
Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council's Cabinet member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, Councillor Olwyn Peters, said: "This is a great event that gets bigger and better every year. It is a wonderful way of showing off Guisborough Forest and the Visitor Centre, one of the jewels in our crown here in Redcar & Cleveland."
Throughout the day there will be a range of events and demonstrations including:
- Heavy Horse displays
- Bee Keeping
- Charcoal making
- Birds of prey
- Chainsaw carving
- Music, entertainment and much more.
There will also be plenty of free craft activities for children, a climbing wall, have a go archery and circus skills.
Tickets for the event are £4 per adult and £3 per child or a family ticket for four people is £12. Tickets can be purchased from Guisborough Forest and Walkway Visitor Centre, for more information contact 01287 631132.
