IT'S 300 years since Kirkleatham Museum, Redcar, first opened and to celebrate Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council will be hosting a range of fun and exciting activities throughout the summer holidays all with a birthday theme.

Every Tuesday and Thursday will see family crafts and activities, with all materials provided for free, this is sure to be a great day out for children and adults alike. Craft Sessions are 'Drop-In' between 10am and 12noon and 1pm and 4 pm.

Why not try a family adventure with Teddy Eddie and Museum Explorer Family Backpacks. A fun and interesting way for your family to get more out of your visit. You can explore the Museum and grounds with Explorer Eddie the Museum Teddy, and try out the exciting activities in the backpack as you go.

Parents and Grandparents - introduce your children to your favourite childhood games with the Museum's Family Loans Boxes. Families can borrow a box to play with in the Museums gardens and grounds.

300th Birthday Treasure Hunt - throughout the holidays be a Museum Detective and go on a mystery trail around the grounds finding out about the important events of the last 300 years. Use your map reading skills to navigate your way around our Orienteering Course, to find the points where picture clues to the quiz questions have been hidden.
