Council congratulates award-winning Teesport

Published: 6th Feb 2018

REDCAR & Cleveland Borough Council is sending congratulations to PD Ports after Teesport was awarded the prestigious Terminal Operator of the Year award.

Awarded by Finnish shopping and logistics company Containerships, it is only the third time the group has recognised a terminal following wins for St Petersburg in 2016 and Lithuania's Klaipeda port last year.

The prize recognises the 40 year relationship between PD Ports and Containerships, with the award highlighting PD Port's commitment to service levels and productivity at Teesport.

Cllr Sue Jeffrey, Leader of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, said: "Teesport is a crucial part of the boroughs economy, employing hundreds of local residents and through supporting businesses that rely on the port to get their products imported and exported.

"I would like to pass on my own congratulations, and from the council as a whole, to everyone who works at PD Ports for their continued hard work and their much deserved Terminal Operator of the Year award."
