Target Leaving Care Team

The TARGET resource centre in Redcar offers a planned as well as a 'drop-in' service for young people for advice and guidance; to visit their personal adviser; to participate in group or project work; to use the facilities such as computers with internet access, a washing machine or telephone; or to just relax and have refreshments.

Opening Hours:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Alternate Wednesday evenings open until 7:00 p.m.
• Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
• Saturday 9:00 a.m. 12 noon.

A personal adviser is on duty during these times.

The personal advisers also work on a flexible basis, covering group and project work, meetings and one to one home visits, outside of these hours.

The amount of support a young care leaver receives from Target depends on their individual needs and wishes. It can range from daily to weekly, to monthly or even longer.

The team aims to consult with and involve young people; to encourage young people to build on their existing skills and develop new skills in order to increase self esteem and self confidence.
