Homelessness Strategy Review
Section 1 of the Homelessness Act 2002 places a duty on local authorities to formulate a homelessness strategy by carrying out a homelessness review. The councils current Homelessness Strategy 2008-13 is in the process of being reviewed.

The review process involves considering the following:-
a) the current levels and likely future levels of homelessness in the borough
b) the activities which are carried out or contribute towards;

i) preventing homelessness
ii) securing that accommodation is or will be available and
iii) providing support .
c) the resources available to the local authority, other public authorities, voluntary organisations and other persons for the delivery of activities in (b) above.

Based on the results of the review a new homelessness strategy will be drafted for consultation with partners and service users, prior to its adoption later this year.
