The strategy sets out six strategic aims designed to achieve these objectives, which are:
  1. Addressing housing market failure
  2. Delivering new homes for current and future residents
  3. Raising standards within the existing housing stock
  4. Increasing the supply of affordable housing
  5. Ensuring that our housing enables people to live independently
  6. Minimising carbon emissions from housing and promoting the highest quality of design.
