MEND is a free fun and friendly programme specially designed to help families get fitter, healthier and happier.
MEND is a 10 week programme for 7-13 year old young people who are above their ideal weight, and their families. MEND helps families learn about food choices and healthy eating and discover fun ways to get fit.
Each MEND session lasts for 2 hours, held twice per week over 10 weeks. The programme includes:
- Understanding and changing unhealthy attitudes and behaviours around food and effective ways to improve your child's self-confidence (mind).
- Weekly games, activities for children (exercise)
- Practical demonstrations, games and tips about healthy eating and food choices to improve the whole family's diet (nutrition).
- Having a go and getting involved! (do it!)
