Environmental issues

Environmental issues are taught as part of the broader curriculum, including aspects of Citizenship, Geography and History. Lakes School has a comprehensive Environmental Policy and has developed an Environmental Code of Practice that encourages all the school community to reduce waste, recycle and re-use. We have facilities to compost waste and recycle materials (including paper, printer cartridges envelopes, stamps and plastic bottles).

Lakes School is recognised as an Eco-School and is working towards the Green Flag standard of ENCAMS (ENCAMS is an ENvironmental CAMpaign group that supports and encourages schools to address environmental issues).
