EVA is now in our 27th year and continues to support women (and their families) who are, or have been, victims of domestic/sexual abuse and violence. We have several current projects in the Redcar and Cleveland area;

  • two supported houses where women fleeing domestic or sexual, violence and abuse can be accommodated and fully supported
  • a range of programmes delivered by experienced and skilled staff
  • drop in facility at our High Street premises
  • a range of support packages tailor made to the service user needs
  • Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA)
  • Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA)
  • children's counselling (5-18yrs, male and female)
  • skilled and experienced Support Workers
  • volunteering opportunities
  • accredited training programmes
  • specialist families worker
  • counselling for female adult victims
  • regular professional 'surgeries', support groups and service user groups
  • IAG service (Information, Advice and Guidance)
In addition, we have just launched our innovative new project, believed to be unique in the UK. The 45+ Project focuses on providing a first-class service to women of that age group who clearly have different needs to their younger counterparts. This project includes supported housing accommodation, and a major new campaign targeting not only women of that age group but the professionals who work with them. We will offer training and support to other professionals to recognise the early signs of abuse, and provide information on how to respond if a woman discloses abuse.

We are the only agency in the area providing wrap-around specialist domestic and sexual violence services. As such we are in a unique position to be able to offer a menu of services to victims from accommodation and high intensity support, to programmes, professional advice and guidance, and lower-level support until a service user is ready to leave with an individually tailored exit plan in place. EVA acknowledges the benefits of partnership working and has excellent relationships with the Local Authority, Police, Courts, Housing providers, SARC, Police and Crime Commissioners Office, Legal Staff, Health Staff and a range of other specialist service providers in the area. EVA is involved at a strategic level with RCBC, Barnardos, Victim Support, Cleveland Womens Network, Teesside Victims Strategic Planning Group, Reducing Domestic Abuse Partnership, Tees Valley Sexual Violence Strategy Group. We are affiliated to Rape Crisis England and Wales with whom we have recently achieved 100% with their National Service Standards. EVA is also affiliated to BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), WAFE (Womens Aid Federation of England) and is an OCN (Open College Network, now known as One) accredited training provider. We currently accept referrals from Schools, Police, Health services, Social Workers, UK Refuges Online, Solicitors and other sources, including self-referrals.
