Sanctuary Scheme

Domestic abuse is a major cause of homelessness in Redcar & Cleveland. Many victims of domestic abuse feel that they need to move as they are in fear of the violence, the Sanctuary Scheme offers an alternative option for victims and can help to reduce the disruption and cost of moving. Anyone fitting the criteria can be considered for the scheme regardless of who you rent your home from but we will need permission from the landlord/owner to carry out the work.

The scheme aims to make it possible for victims and potential victims of domestic abuse to remain in their home and feel safe. This entails the provision and installation of security measures to a residents home which in turn will hopefully deter the perpetrator from any repeat incidents and allow the resident to feel safer in their home. .
