The economy is facing a challenging period with tougher credit conditions and people spending less, which is having an impact on our town centres and retail areas.

The Council's Cabinet approved the implementation of a property improvement project across the whole of the borough in 2010. Phases one to three included works in in Redcar Town Centre, Guisborough and East Cleveland. Phase four included improvements to the appearance of retail units, new signage and environmental improvements in the Greater Eston area.
