When will Eston Precinct be redevloped?

The redevelopment of Eston Precinct is a priority for regeneration in the area. Its design is no longer fit for purpose and it has become run-down over the years. The Council has granted permission for the partial demolition of 2 storey retail units with residential units above; the refurbishment of 7 remaining retail units and the erection of a single storey Aldi supermarket with car parking and landscaping.

Further details can be found here.

Where will the money come from to deliver the regeneration schemes in Greater Eston?

The projected cost of delivering all of the projects outlined in A New Perspective, the Greater Eston Delivery Plan is close to £500 million. Achieving this will involve a combination of public and private investment. Public sector investment will be required to carry out enabling works, which will then facilitate the private investment.
