The Greater Eston Project is an ambitious long-term regeneration programme covering housing, health, education, retail and our environment. We face major challenges including: low demand for housing in some areas, continuing decline of traditional employment, deteriorating quality of shopping facilities, poor perception of Greater Eston and run down environment in some locations.
We are making a step change in our approach to meeting these challenges, building on the many assets that Greater Eston has – not least, the people who live here, its setting in the shadow of Eston Hills, the shared industrial heritage, the economic progress already being made, the excellent leisure facilities and the collective commitment of all those with a role to play.
The Greater Eston area offers huge potential for redevelopment of housing, shopping, health and community facilities to make an inviting place to live, work, shop and invest in.
