Family Activities - Saxon Princess - Discovery Market
Visit the New Saxon Princess exhibition for lots of hands on activities in the Saxon Discovery Market. Dress up as a Saxon princess or warrior, monk or nun, grind the flour, challenge your family to a Saxon game or discover Saxon tales in our story corner. You may also design your own Saxon treasure.
Activities are free and all materials are provided. Sessions are drop in and children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact the Museum. Open Bank Holiday Monday.

Museum Explorer Family Backpacks
A fun and interesting way for your family to get more out of your visit. Explore the Museum and grounds with Explorer Eddie the Museum Teddy.
Backpacks may be borrowed for up to 2 hours, but don’t forget to bring Explorer Eddie back!
(A returnable deposit is required for loan of the backpacks).

Redcar Bears Speedway
Redcar Speedway is based at the South Tees Motorsports Park which is just off the A66 between Middlesbrough and South Bank. Speedway is a summer sport and our season starts this year on 4th April with a local derby against "The Newcastle Diamonds" for "The Tyne Tees Trophy". We will then be racing every Thursday night at 7.30pm through to the end of October. We race in Speedways Premier League against teams that range from Plymouth in the south to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

It's A Material World - An Exhibition by Neida Pearson
Local artist Neida Pearson exhibits her art work exploring pattern, colour and form.
The main component of her work is the layering of patterns which form the threads that link her work to 15th and 16th century art by painters such as Hans Holbein and Lucas Cranac. The Tudor Rose often features in her oil paintings almost like a signature.Date(s): Sat 6th April 2013 -

We are keen to increase public awareness and to highlight the valuable contributions that service personnel make to both their country and to their local community. The week will focus on supporting the men and women who have served and are continuing to serve in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.

An orchestral and choral concert to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The Boundary 500 - Classic Motorcycle challenge 2013
The Boundary Classic is open to any age of bike
The event covers a distance of 130 miles around the North Yorkshire Moors
Entrance fee is £3 per Rider/Pillion who are asked to raise a minimum of £20 sponsorship each.
Riders receive and Air Ambulance T shirt, Badge and Boundary mug. The ride starts and finishes Kirkleatham Hall, Redcar TS10 5NW where there is free camping. Please help us raise money to secure the financial future of The Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Speakers locally based specialists including Denis Goldring (TVRIGS), Mike Windle (NE Yorkshire Geology Trust), Will Watts (Scarborough Museums Trust), John Waring (TVRIGS), Peter Appleton (Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum) and Andy Cooper (TVRIGS). Lemon Top Relay 13th July 2013Come along to Redcar Beach, near Redcar Beacon and take part in the Lemon Top Relay and have some fun. You may be the lucky winning team !! Bring some friends and family along with you and join in this event. If you want to pre enter the relay with your team of 4 please call Jayne Barnard on 01642 444375 or come along to the beach at 11.30am to register. Relay starts at 12 noon approx. As well as the lemon top event there will be some come and try it sports on the beach and free donkey rides.
Local charities will be on Redcar High Street and will welcome your support. Redcar Rotary Club have organised Punch and Judy shows throughout the day and Middlesbrough Jazz and Blues bands will perform too. All of the activities run from 10am to 4pmDate(s): Sat 13th July 2013

31st Redcar Half Marathon
Entries are now open for the Redcar Half Marathon to be held on the 29th September 2013. This popular race returns for its 31st year. The route is a flat, fast, traffic free course starting and finishing at Redcar Leisure Centre, Majuba Road, Redcar. The event is chip timed on closed roads.
