Promises to Children in Care

In October 2010 we launched the Promises to Children in Care. The Children in Care Council have worked really hard to review the Pledge and have developed 33 Promises. We consulted with the Chief Executive Amanda Skelton, the Head of Safeguarding Children and Families Barbara Shaw, lots of managers, workers, other children and young people in and from care and also carers.

The responses we received were brilliant with lots of positive comments and good suggestions.

The 33 Promises was launched on 21st October 2010 at the Council Chamber, Town Hall. We had a great turn out and all who attended were positive and supportive of their Promises to us! You will find a copy of the promises below.
