Welcome to South Tees LSCB website
South Tees LSCB covering Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland. Working together as an inter-agency partnership to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. South Tees Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) is a joint Board which covers the two local authority areas of
Middlesbrough † and
Redcar & Cleveland † .

South Tees LSCB is managed and administered by Redcar & Cleveland Childrens Services Social Care on behalf of both Boroughs. It was established in April 2006 and replaced the former South Tees Area Child Protection Committee.
All Local Authorities have to set up LSCBs, which are the key statutory mechanisms for agreeing how organisations will co-operate to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and for ensuring effectiveness.
The work of South Tees LSCB contributes to the wider goals of improving the well being and safety of all children within the South Tees area, these goals being known as the five Every Child Matters outcomes. These are:
- Being healthy
- Being safe
- Enjoying and achieving
- Making a positive contribution
- Achieving economic well being
Whilst contributing to all of the above goals, it is being safe which is the main focus for South Tees and other LSCBs.
