Home - An Exhibition by David Mulholland at Kirkleatham Museum

David Mulholland David Mulholland was essentially part of the life and land that he painted. He died when only fifty-eight but the legacy that he left for the community that he called Home is a unique pictorial love poem to the people, streets and industrial heritage of South Bank and Grangetown; the pubs, betting shops and workers' cafes; the hills at Eston; the seas of East Cleveland; and the North Yorkshire Moors. Guisborough's Third Beer Festival

Guisborough Beer Festival BarGuisborough will be hosting its third Beer Festival on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th April 2014. The Festival takes place in St Nicholas Parish Hall, Bow Street, Guisborough from 11am to 4pm and 6pm to 11pm on each day. Some 36 different real ales are available at the festival, a total of over 2,500 pints.

Guided Walk: Archaeology around Loftus

The walk will be led by archaeologist Dr Stephen Sherlock. It will aim to interest people in the rich archaeology and heritage around Loftus, with specific reference to sites at Street House and Boulby. The walk will also enable participants to appreciate the spectacular scenery around the Loftus area. A basic level of physical fitness is required for this five mile walk; please wear suitable clothing and footwear. You are advised to bring a packed lunch/refreshments. No booking needed.

The Seaside Vintage Fair is to be held on Saturday 26 April, 11am - 4pm at Coatham Memorial Hall, Redcar. Free entry and over 30 stalls. Saltburn Historic Motor Gathering

parkrunThe event is open to vehicles pre and post war and pre 1975, both cars and motorcycles are welcome. Members of the public will be able have a good look around the vehicles as they will be displayed in the Cat Nab Car park. Vehicles will then be driven, individually, up the hill from Cat Nab Car park towards Rushpool Hall. Although the original Saltburn Hill Climb was a competitive sprint event, the 2014 event is non competitive.

Rememberance Sunday Parade - St Nicholas's Church, Guisborough

Parade along Westgate (Guisborough Highstreet), to celebrate rememberance Sunda,y. The parade has old and young serving members of the armed forces as well as the voluntary sector like TA and Cadets, also Local Youth and Children groups like the Scouts and Brownies. The Salvation Army Band are also in attendance. Come along and support your local heros - young and old! the parade starts at 11.00, but most people tend to congregate in the higstreet from 10.3 am. There is a rolling road closure supported by the local police authority and community suppport officers. The parade marches along the higstreet, then up towards St Nicholas's Church where a minutes silence is conducted with a speech and appreciation to the defence work done by our armed force colleagues. A church service is then held at St Nicholas's with all welcome.

Unveiling of RAF Memorial

The Friends of Redcar Cemetery have been working very hard over the last three years to establish a lasting memorial to the RTAF within our cemetery.We have been very fortunate to have had local firms make a considerable contribution in kind.Everything is set for an unveiling ceremony on the 1st September at 2.00pm.Everyone is welcome and a reception will take place in Borough Park Bowls Club afterwards.
